UNIVERSITY NAMED A COURSE AFTER QUEEN BEYONCE

This story is pretty funny, as in I couldn’t help laughing. According to reliable sources, Rutgers University in New Jersey is set to start studying world popular singer Beyonce as a course at the University’s Department of Women’s and Gender Studies. Lolzz! Abeg fellow me laugh ooo! This is weird. Oyibo people no go kill themselves with their so called invention….lolzz! the report has it that with this development, Queen Bee has joined other celebrities including Oprah and husband Jay Z, (who has a Georgetown University sociology course named after him).
Campus Watch reliably gathered that the new course, would be called ‘Politicizing Beyonce’ and it’s aimed at exploring the social & cultural significance of the world renowned celebrity’s music and image.
We also gathered that the course would offer allow Queen Bee’s fans a chance to explore her historically antecedents; and critically evaluate the extent of control she has over her own image. Her fans will also have an opportunity to argue on whether her red hot persona is an outlet of female sexual empowerment or merely complying with western gender stereotypes.

According to Kevin Allred, the academician in charge of the course at Rutgers University, "This isn’t a course about Beyonce’s political engagement or how many times she performed during President Obama’s inauguration weekend. She certainly pushes boundaries. While other artists are simply releasing music, she’s creating a grand narrative around her life, her career, and her persona”.
