I Should Have Escaped from Nigeria after Stealing N45m ––Arrested Graduate

The Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Lagos State Police Command has apprehended a 30-year-old man believed to have been the mastermind of two robberies at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in the year 2012 and 2013.

Crying out about his involvement in crime, the money he made and his arrest, the graduate said:
“My regret is that I did not heed the advice of my friends who told me to run away from the country because N45m was enough to do good business abroad.
“I also feel sad that God saved me and gave me the opportunity to escape, but I messed it up. God really loved me because all our members were rounded up and I was the only one left, yet I did not use the opportunity to escape.”
The suspect, Samuel Mayegun, who claimed to be a graduate of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic in Ogun State, was arrested in the Ikorodu area of Lagos last Thursday.

The suspect, who claimed to have made about N45m from the robberies, said he continued to rob because all his investments had failed.

He reiterated that his only regret was that he did not flee the country when he had the chance to.

The suspect, who claimed to be married with children, said he continued to rob because he was constantly in bad business losing money from such businesses.

He said, “I invested some of my share in some businesses: I bought lands and trucks for transport business. Some of my share was taken from me by some street urchins who got wind of the robbery and threatened to report me to the police, so I gave them some money. Unfortunately, my transport business did not move well and I became broke.

“I did not want to go back to robbery because all other members had been arrested by SARS, but because of hunger, I was forced to make one more attempt this year. I was unlucky that it was in SARS hands that I landed.”

According to a Punch report, Mayegun was arrested by SARS men, led SP Abba Kyari, while he was staging another robbery with four others.

Commissioner of Police, Umar Manko, while parading the suspects, said they were arrested based on a tip-off by a credible source. They will all be charged to court.

Is 38 years in prison appropriate for a teacher who slept with her 12yr old student?

Former teacher Ethel Anderson, 31, (pictured above) was found guilty and sentenced to 38 years in prison in December 2013 for having sex with her 12 year old student.

The married mother of one had sex with one of her students, whose identity is being kept secret because of his age (he was 12 at the time). The alleged abuse started in 2011 just one month after the teacher and the minor started a tutoring session in her home. During her trial last year, the boy, now 14, told the court that she started by kissing him and progressed to giving him oral sex.

"I felt like she was a girlfriend, I loved her and she said that I was her boyfriend and she loved me. She would rub on my legs, kiss on my ears, neck and stuff like that. We would tongue kiss. I lost my virginity to her. I told her to stop but she said she wanted me bad"
The boy's angry mother told the former 'teacher of the year', who worked as a language arts teacher at Mango Elementary School, in Florida, that she took her boy's innocence.

'Anger and hatred don't even begin to explain how I feel about what you took from my son. His innocence is lost forever.' She said in a statement read at the sentencing
Now there are people, especially blacks in America, who feel 38 years is too much to spend in prison for having sex with a minor...especially after a teacher, Laura Whitehurst (who is white) was sentenced to prison for 1 year and released after only 6 months for sleeping with three of her students and giving birth to a child fathered by one of them. Watch the people you leave you children with.

Zodiac Traits do they really reflect in your character?

The word Zodiac literally means animals and refers to the patterns or configurations of creatures as seen in the twinkling stars at night. The Zodiac belt is the great circle around which our luminescent Sun apparently moves month by month throughout the year, transceiving the energy of those different constellational signs and thereby transmitting the celestial radiations to our Earth.

The traits of each month indicated by astrologer are they really true... Both the positive and negative aspect...

Suicide Bomber Attacks German Troops Near Airport in Afghan Capital

A suicide bomber attacked a motorcade of German troops near the international airport in the Afghan capital, Kabul, on Wednesday, a military official said, but there were no immediate reports of casualties.

Confirmation of the attack from the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) came soon after a Reuters witness reported a large blast near the sprawling and heavily guarded facility, which is used by civilians and the military.
"We can confirm reports of a suicide bomber who attempted to attack an ISAF motorcade today," ISAF Spokeswoman, Lt.-Col. Latondra Kinley said.

"The attacker was killed and there were no ISAF casualties to report."
The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack in a text message sent by its Spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid.
He claimed that two German vehicles were destroyed and "10 soldiers were killed and wounded". The Taliban routinely exaggerates casualty numbers from attacks on government and foreign targets.

A bomb had been planted in a four-wheel-drive vehicle on the northern edge of the airport, Afghan Deputy Interior Minister, Gen. Ayoub Salangi, said in a statement.
There were no casualties, he said.
The airport is home to one of the NATO-led force's most important bases, the ISAF Joint Command, which is responsible for the day-to-day management of foreign troop operations in Afghanistan.

Attacks on the heavily guarded airport are relatively rare and the facility represents an ambitious target for insurgents.
The attack comes amid heightened insecurity in Kabul following a surprise announcement by Afghan President Hamid Karzai last month that he would delay signing a crucial security pact designed to shape the U.S. military presence in Afghanistan after the NATO-led combat mission ends next year.

The U.S. has said it would consider withdrawing all its troops if the pact was not signed soon, although James Dobbins, Senior U.S. Diplomat for Afghanistan and Pakistan, said on Tuesday that the U.S was "nowhere near" deciding on a full withdrawal after 2014.

Truck Rams Into Classroom, Kills 7 School Children

A truck driver yesterday in Abia state, lost control and rammed into a classroom killing 7 school children with 15 others wounded.
The truck was said to be on its way to Ovom waterside to evacuate sand when it lost control and rammed into the fence of Glorious International Academy located on 42 Opobo road, before killing the pupils who were having their morning devotion.
The sad part was that, they had already finished their exams, but came to school that morning for their end of year party. Blood stains littered the floor while plates, spoons and food meant for the party were seen scattered all over. Some parents and relations who lost their children and wards were seen weeping uncontrollably while others were making inquiries regarding the whereabouts of their children and wards.

Data suggests billion of habitable planets exist..

• Habitable alien planets similar to
Earth may not be that rare in the
universe, a new study suggests
ABOUT one in five sun-like stars
observed by NASA’s planet-hunting
Kepler spacecraft has an Earth-size
planet in the so-called habitable
zone, where liquid water — and,
potentially life — could exist,
according to the new study.
If these results apply elsewhere in
the galaxy, the nearest such planet
could be just 12 light-years away.
“Human beings have been looking
at the stars for thousands of years,”
said study researcher, Erik Petigura,
a graduate student at the University
of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley).
“How many of those stars have
planets that are in some way like
Earth? We’re very excited today to
start to answer that question,”
Petigura told SPACE.com.
The findings, detailed in the
journal Proceedings of the National
Academy of Sciences and in a video
describing the frequency of Earth-
like planets, say nothing about
whether these planets actually
support life — only that they meet
some of the known criteria for
habitability.
Petigura also presented the
results in a briefing at the second
Kepler Science Conference at NASA
Research Park in Moffett Field,
California, in which the Kepler team
also announced the discovery of
hundreds of new exoplanets,
including many in the habitable
zone.
“I think it’s by far the most
trustable estimate available, but I
don’t think it’s final,” said Francois
Fressin, an astronomer at the
Harvard-Smithsonian Center for
Astrophysics, who was not involved
with the study.
Petigura and his colleagues
painstakingly developed software to
sift through Kepler’s mammoth data
set. The spacecraft’s field of view
includes about 150,000 stars, but
most of these fluctuate in brightness
too much for a planet to be
detectable. The team examined
42,000 of the “quietest” stars,
finding 603 planet candidates
around these stars, 10 of which were
Earth-size and lay in the habitable
zone.
The team defined Earth-size
planets as ones having a radius one
to two times that of Earth. Planets
were considered to be in the
habitable zone if they received
about as much light as the Earth
does from the sun (within a factor of
four).
They used the Keck I telescope in
Hawaii to take spectra of the stars,
in order to pin down the radii of the
planets.
But this wasn’t the end of the
story. Just as taking a census
requires some statistical corrections
for the people the survey misses,
the researchers had to make
corrections for planets Kepler
missed.
The transit method of finding
planets, by definition, only detects
planets orbiting in the same plane
of view as their host star, which
includes just a fraction of the total
number of planets. Study researcher,
Geoff Marcy of UC Berkeley compared
planetary orbits to papers fluttering
through the air. Very few are going
to be edge-on, he said.
Secondly, the analysis misses
some planets simply because the
tiny amount of starlight they block
makes them tricky to detect. To
correct for this, the researchers
inserted “fake planets” into the data
so they could see how many their
software would miss.
The analysis was a “Herculean
task,” Marcy said.
After making these corrections,
the researchers had their result:
About 22 per cent of sunlike stars
observed by Kepler have Earth-size,
potentially habitable planets.
The researchers were quick to
point out that the fact that these
planets are Earth-size and lie in the
habitable zone does not mean they
could support life. The planets might
have scorching-hot atmospheres, or
no atmospheres at all, they said.
Even if the planets have all the
basic ingredients for life, scientists
don’t know the probability that life
would ever get started.
The definition of Earth-size
planets in this study was pretty
broad, Fressin said. For instance, a
planet that has a radius twice the
size of Earth’s might not even be
rocky, he said.
Kepler mission scientist Natalie
Batalha, an astronomer at NASA’s
Ames Research Center, who was not
involved with the study, agrees it’s a
generous definition. Rocky planets
with a radius about 1 to 1.5 times
the size of Earth’s have been found,
but the fraction of larger planets
that are rocky is probably much
lower, Batalha told SPACE.com. Still,
it’s a fair start, she said.
“Kepler’s prime objective was to
understand the prevalence of
habitable planets in the galaxy,”
Batalha said at a news conference.
“This is the first time a team has
offered such a number for stars like
the sun.”
The researchers had to
extrapolate the number of planets
with orbits longer than 200 days,
because these haven’t been
detected in the Kepler data.
“Ideally, we won’t rely on
extrapolations,” Batalha said. “But
as a first cut, this is a valid thing to
do.”
Last week, Marcy and his
colleagues reported the discovery of
the alien planet Kepler-78b, a rocky
world nearly the same size and
density as the Earth. But Kepler-78b
hugs its star at a distance far too
close and hot to be habitable, with
surface temperatures of about 3,680
degrees Fahrenheit (2,027 degrees
Celsius).
Kepler went out of commission in
May, after the loss of a wheel used
for pointing the spacecraft.
Nevertheless, scientists will mine
Kepler data for decades to look for
potentially habitable planets.
“Maybe with future instruments,
we could actually image these
planets,” Petigura said.

Do you know???

On May 6 2002, Surgeons at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex (OAUTHC), Ile-Ife in Osun State successfully separated a set of Nigerian siamese twins with a common anus and fused lower spine.
