Women Must Dominate 2015 Elections, APC Female Leader Insists

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Interim National Women Leader, Sharon Ikeazor, has lamented that despite the huge population of women in the country, they are have little influence in politics.
She vowed in the upcoming 2015 elections, women would strive to strive to contribute to who emerges as the winner.
Ikeazor said this while addressing South West APC women meeting in Lagos on Monday.
She said: "Despite our population, women in Nigeria are yet to tap into their numeric strength to become more relevant in politics. This is a big problem. Women are not yet united to forge a common force and speak with one voice.
"This is the essence of the APC South West meeting. Our aim is to sensitize the women on the need to become a formidable force and use their numeric strength to ensure victory for the APC in 2015."
She said that the APC was already preparing its female aspirants for various political positions across the country.
According to her, the party has kicked off workshops across the country for its female members with ambition to contest in 2015 and beyond.
The Woman Leader also speaking on violence against women, urged women to resist all forms of violence but at home and at in their work or business places.
"All abuses against women must be reported promptly to the appropriate quarters," she said.
On the chances of the APC in the 2015 polls, the Woman Leader said that the party will win because it is a "conglomerate".
"When you consider the individual strength of the political parties that formed the APC, you will know without doubt that the party's chances in 2015 are very bright," she said.
